Since settling in Albuquerque in 2008, Sam Jacobs has been an active pianist, teacher and musical collaborator in the community. His principal teachers were Antonio Pompa-Baldi at the Cleveland Institute of Music (M.M. 2008), Peter Takács at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M. 2006) and Jonathan Bass at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School (1999-2001). He has also played in workshops and masterclasses in Europe and North America, working with renowned teachers Jerome Lowenthal, Boris Slutsky and Ursula Oppens.
In addition to musical activities, Jacobs is an enthusiastic reader of history, philosophy, politics, economics and fiction, and is a passionate fan of exercise, nature, movies, chess, tango, and New England sports teams.
